FO Friday

So, it's been some time since I've done an FO Friday post. These last few months, I've mainly finished orders that are for babies. Either way, I've finished some things. These are September to November Time Frame.

     So, as you can see, I'm a knitting fiend lately. I've also taken on the crazypants idea that I can knit an Owl Cardigan by Mari Chiba in just 13 days for NaKniSweMo. (I just cast on today, in case you were wondering.) Which means that I have to knit 7,035 stitches per day (or 7.69%) to get it done by November 30.

Where Have I Been, and What have I Been Doing?

     So Blogger says that the last time I published anything was on May 29, 2015. Therefore, it's been a year, 4 months, and one day. A lot can happen, and has, in this amount of time. I had just started working at Sonic around the time I last posted, and I am no longer working there. It is a Blessing, let me tell you. I have been able to stay up late reading, well, I've gotten to read period. I've knit SO much more, and I really enjoy being able to work at my own schedule.

     Knitting, let's talk. I do believe that the last thing that I had talked about on here was the black Featherweight, which has been finished for what seems like forever. it was knit in In the Loop yarn
(some yarn that my mom picked up at our Dollar General and honestly, wasn't/isn't awful to work with and wear) and I wear it pretty regularly.
Socks are a staple in my knitting "schedule." They make great purse projects and my mom loves her handknit socks. Lucky for her, it's officially the season for wearing them.

     I have knit a few (five or six) pairs for myself, but I'm still not sure how I feel about wearing handknit socks... I swear I can feel the stitches on the bottom of my feet.

A Cruise? When?

   In just 16 short days, my family and I will be sailing away to Cozumel, Mexico on a four day cruise on the Carnival Magic. The Magic is the same boat my mom and I took last year on our seven day cruise to Cozumel, Grand Caymen, and Montego Bay for my 16th birthday. Wait, what cruise? That's right, I didn't share about it because I was MIA from the blogging-world for way too long last summer. Let's start from the beginning then.
   Last June, for my 16th birthday gift, my mom and I boarded the Carnival Magic for a seven day cruise going to Cozumel, Mexico, the Grand Caymen Islands, and Montego Bay, Jamaica. It was the best, THE BEST, birthday present I could ever ask for, and I still talk about it to this day. I met many friends, who I still talk to, danced, explored, ate amazing food, started out way too late, and got up way too early.  It was an amazing experience and I will be taking my future family on many cruises.
  Did I take pictures? Of course I did!

We walked 5 miles to the shopping center, and shopped around, it was fun!

We just seem at the beach, but the water was so clear! The sand was real sand and not dirt! It was amazing!

Montego Bay, Jamaica
We took a tour of Jamaica, it lasted about 4 or 5 hours, but it was worth it!

My favorite part was when I saw this woman crocheting! She does some pretty darn amazing work!

And my favorite meal, which I ate like the times throughout the week at dinnertime, grilled chicken, French fries, and veggies.

   As you can tell, it was an AMAZING experience! Now you know why I'm looking forward to going again!

FO Friday

This week, I've finished two projects.

Flax by Tin Can Knits in Red Heart Super Saver "Cherry Red" and Caron Simply Soft "Black"

And an Olaf by Coleen Hays in Red Heart Super Saver "Soft White" Which still needs eyes, a carrot nose, and a mouth.

Since I'm Trying to Get Things Off of my Needles....

So, I have been trying to clear off my needles lately so that I can start some more projects. Some things got frogged, or frogged and are being reknit, or even continuing on with old projects. First I'll show you the progress on my Caffe Macchiato socks. These are knit on size 1(2.25mm) needles in Araucania Nuble colorway number 1. I finished the foot of the first sock, and I put it on wast yarn (thread) so that I can work the foot of the second before I start the legs.
   I'm sure you're wondering why I do this, right? Well, to be honest, I could just weigh out two equal balls of yarn. Except for the fact that I don't have batteries in my kitchen scale! So I just knit the feet first. I also might have to get another skein of this yarn.. project page

Well, Hello Again!

   So, we got all settled into our new house and are really liking it here! I have been reunited with my stash and all of my projects which means.... yep that's right! Work on all of the things! I have been working on my Cable Hugger by Karima Sundarji, started a few new projects, and have resumed progress on my Snowflakes Throw by Tammy Hildebrand. I have also finished some projects, since when moving, (in my case) you get to spend 6+ hours in the car knitting! Also, for the first few days, I only had 2 projects with me.

Sweater Progress.... I have finished the front, back and one sleeve, only a sleeve, a collar, and a cable band to go!
