WIP Wednesday

I've been working on a few things lately, not as much as I'd like though.

Socks for my mom in Premier Yarns Serenity Sock "Amethyst"

I added a few more square to my sock yarn blanket...

Almost finished the back of my Hana Hou before I ran out of yarn.. Seriously, I was shaping the shoulders!

And some leggings for my cousin in Premier Yarns Wool Free Sock in "Vegas Lights" which will be frogged and reknit in a larger size, but they're beautiful!

Reading:

I just started this book last night, but so far, so good!

Book Review: Delirium Trilogy

I will say, this was one of the best series that I've read in a long time. It's not a normal sappy love story, its also about living a different life, emotions, and survival. I love the character Lena and how the story is told from her point of view.

Delirium
Lauren Oliver
Science Fiction, YA
441 pages

Delirium was definitely the best of the series, I really, really loved it. Lena's character was so well developed, and her relationship with Alex was told step by step, how she felt about him, how she wanted to go to the wilds, how she wanted to love. Everything about this book was so well written, I will definitely be recommending it to everyone and anyone! Definitely a must read book!

Pandemonium
Lauren Oliver
Science Fiction, YA
379 pages

Pandemonium is the second book in this series. It was a pretty good book, but not my favorite. It tells about Lena learning to live in the Wilds and gaining relationships with the people there. She definitely struggled with Alex's death and having to learn how to live in the Wilds alone, but as the book progresses, she becomes more comfortable with people and gets the hang of her new life being an active member of the resistance. Towards the end, though, she's in for a big surprise.

Requiem
Lauren Oliver
Science Fiction, YA
391 pages

Requiem was definitely the most disappointing book, but also the most intriguing. The story is told by both Lena and Hana, telling about the struggles that Lena has to face to be free, but also the struggles that Hana faces after her procedure. The ending left me wondering, The plot was changing on every page. She loves Alex, no she loves Julian, no Alex, no Julian. The group fled back to the Wilds after they rescued Julian, but the Wilds are no longer safe. They're travelling, hiding, and just trying to get back to break down the walls and give the people back their freedom.

All Books, All the Time

Okay, so it's been well over a month since I've blogged, but I am going to get back into it! (Hopefully) thus lost is going to be all about books. She my last post, I've read about 11 books. Two of which I just finished today. I've been reading a lot, Can you tell? I'll (try to) write up my reviews for each book soon, but what I'm day for now is that I pretty much loved each one of them!

  • Fearless Fourteen by Janet Evanovich
  • The Morganville Vampires vol 4 (books 7&8) by Rachel Caine
  • Ghost Town by Rachel Caine
  • To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee
  • Finger Lickin' Fifteen by Janet Evanovich
  • Double Identity by Margaret Peterson-Haddix
  • The Ghost's Grave by Peg Kehret
  • Cinder by Marissa Meyer
  • Bite Club by Rachel Caine
  • Sizzling Sixteen by Janet Evanovich
  • Glitches by Marissa Meyer
The books I'm currently reading are

  • The Scarlet Letter by Nathaniel Hawthorne
  • The Shop on Blossom Street by Debbie Macomber
  • Marked by P.C. and Kristin Cast
I seriously recommend these books, especially the Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer (Glitches, Cinder, The Queen's Army, Scarlet, & Cress), the Stephanie Plum series by Janet Evanovich, and Double Identity, which is my favorite book of all time, with The Ghost's Grave at a close second. The Morganville Vampires series is pretty good, by extremely repetitive, so if you don't like that in a series, I don't recommend reading more than a few books.

That's all I have for now, I'll try to get those reviews written. I have a looking list of books I still need to review. I'll see y'all back soon for some knitting!
