Only for old ladies? No. Just No.

Tonight I have been thinking about how, back in the day, all ladies, young and old, knitted/crocheted. Nowadays, it's "just for old ladies." I am young and I crochet and just taught myself to knit! I don't know why younger girls (and boys) don't like knitting/crocheting. It's a great therapeutic stress reliever (in my opinion) and you create clothes/things you want by only having to buy/spin your own yarn/thread and buy needles/hooks. I absolutely love crochet and have come to love the equally as beautiful knitting. I think my generation should learn these things. Honestly, I don't watch TV as much anymore, if I do it's while I'm knitting or crocheting, and I spend most of my time on Ravelry.com looking at patterns, discussing needlework things, or updating my WIP progress. I learn new things everyday and just can't seem to put any projects down! They have to be so far, or I have to be told that it's time to put it away and sleep. Kid's could be learning this too, hand-eye coordination and relaxation. It would also teach them to read patterns and could help others learn how to do these things as well. There would be so many needlework groups out there.. This is just something I have been thinking about a lot lately and wanted to put it out there.
