This week, I have finished a beanie and the third (and last) skein of Enchanted Knoll Farm "Queen Mermaid.
I finished this beanie earlier today, it's a mystery wool (handspun) on size 8 needles

And the final skein of my handspun was 107yds, giving me a total of 379yds for myself, a total of 579 yds from the 4 oz batt.

Book Review: The Friday Night Knitting Club by Kate Jacobs

This book has been on my reading list for a while now and I will say, I'm glad it was. This book was full of emotion, friendships, fun, and love. I am definitely looking forward to reading the rest of the series.

Title: The Friday Night Knitting Club
Author: Kate Jacobs
Genre: Fiction, Knitting, Romance
Length: 352 pages
Audiobook: 13.5 hours (810 minutes)

The Friday Night Knitting Club is a series of 4 books, The Friday Night Knitting ClubKnit Two, Comfort Food, and Knit the Season
Georgia and Dakota Walker are the owners of Walker and Daughter, a local knitting shop in New York. Though Dakota is only 12 years old, she, like her mother, is an avid knitter. As the shop grows, the two become acquainted with some of their customers, Anita, K.C., Peri, Lucie, and most recently, Darwin. The ladies started staying after hours on Friday nights, and it was declared that Fridays were the nights of the Friday Night Knitting Club. As Georgia deals with the shop, the knitting club, and her 12 year old daughter wanting more freedom being an 'almost 13-year-old,' she gets a few more things to juggle. Dakota's father, James, who left Georgia before Dakota was even born, decides to just pop in one day and get to know his daughter. Not only that, Georgia gets another surprise visit from a Cat Phillips, formerly known as Cathy Anderson and Georgia's best friend. As the book progresses, so does the relationships between James and Cat. Georgia, Dakota and Cat, who wasn't exactly invited, take a trip to Scotland so that Dakota can meet Georgia's grandmother and Dakota's great-grandmother,Gran. While they're there, an unexpected visitor shows up. And the current state of their relationship will change for good. Back home, Anita decides to head to the doctor for a check up and when Georgia calls to make the appointment for her, the nurse urges Georgia to make an appointment for herself too. But when Georgia gets a call from the doctor the next week, everyone is brought closer than ever.
I highly suggest this book, but I will warn you, it is a little sad. But it's also exciting, emotional, and funny! Whether you like knitting or not, it's a great book either way!

WIP Wednesday

This week I have 2 active knitting wips and one active spinning wip. First is Anisette by Kathleen Griffin-Grimes in Patons Lace Sequin "Quartz" on size 9 needles. I've finished 4 repeats of the lace panel and I'm on row 88 of 253. I'm knitting this for the Homespun Podcast Shawl KAL, hoping to finish by January 31.

FO Friday

This week, I (finally) finished my mom's Caffe Macchiato socks by Marian Moldan in Araucania Nuble "1" on size 1(2.25mm) needles. She loves them and says she wants 7 more pairs, one for every day and an extra so she can mix things up sometimes!

When You Frog Projects, You Can Cast More Projects On!

Since the new year started 5 days ago, I've already started 2 new projects, almost finished 2 projects, and frogged 3 projects. I started a Harry Potter iPad Cozy for my aunt, I'll also be knitting one for my brother, they're both Harry Potter fanatics. It's being knit in Red Heart With Love "Holly Berry" and Red Heart Super Saver "Gold" on size 4 (3.5mm) needles. I finished the back, and have started the chart on the front. I'll hopefully have it done this week.

I also started Anisette by Kathleen Griffin-Grimes in Patons Lace Sequin "Quartz" on size 9 (5.5mm) needles for the Homespun Podcast January KAL. I've only been working on it for 3 days and already have 13 rows done! It's mainly eyelets with a swirled border.

I've almost finished my mom's Caffe Macchiato socks by Marian Moldan. I only have the cuff on the right sock left to do. They're being knit in Araucania Nuble "1" on size 1 (2.25mm) needles.

Now, when I say I frogged 3 projects, I frogged 2 sweaters and a hat. The hat is going to get cast back on though. I had a frogging and balling party the other night until about 2 AM. See my nifty project bag? The yarn doesn't get tangled when it's in there :) The sweaters I frogged were Casablanca, and Cable Hugger. Cable Hugger will get re-knit eventually, but it was just way too big.
