A Cruise? When?

In just 16 short days, my family and I will be sailing away to Cozumel, Mexico on a four day cruise on the Carnival Magic. The Magic is the same boat my mom and I took last year on our seven day cruise to Cozumel, Grand Caymen, and Montego Bay for my 16th birthday. Wait, what cruise? That's right, I didn't share about it because I was MIA from the blogging-world for way too long last summer. Let's start from the beginning then.
Last June, for my 16th birthday gift, my mom and I boarded the Carnival Magic for a seven day cruise going to Cozumel, Mexico, the Grand Caymen Islands, and Montego Bay, Jamaica. It was the best, THE BEST, birthday present I could ever ask for, and I still talk about it to this day. I met many friends, who I still talk to, danced, explored, ate amazing food, started out way too late, and got up way too early.  It was an amazing experience and I will be taking my future family on many cruises.
Did I take pictures? Of course I did!

The ship

Cozumel, Mexico
We walked 5 miles to the shopping center, and shopped around, it was fun!

Grand Caymen Islands
We just seem at the beach, but the water was so clear! The sand was real sand and not dirt! It was amazing!

Montego Bay, Jamaica
We took a tour of Jamaica, it lasted about 4 or 5 hours, but it was worth it!

My favorite part was when I saw this woman crocheting! She does some pretty darn amazing work!

The beautiful sunset from our balcony.

And my favorite meal, which I ate like the times throughout the week at dinnertime, grilled chicken, French fries, and veggies.

As you can tell, it was an AMAZING experience! Now you know why I'm looking forward to going again!

What I'm Reading Tuesday

I haven't finished any books this week, but I am reading Crossed by Ally Condie and Spells & Stitches by Barbara Bretton.

I am really enjoying this book, I'm only about halfway through, and it's a little slow at this point, but the climax seems promisingly close.

This is a new book that our local library just put out on the shelves, turns out that even though they labeled it as book one, it's actually book 4… I am a little disappointed that I don't know the background information on all of the characters and what has happened before this point, but I'm enjoying it nonetheless. I well be asking my library to relabel the book as the correct number, and also to add the rest of the series to the shelf.

Sewing Sunday

Today, I  spent some time with my beloved Singer Simple. I made 2 Medium wedges, a large wedge, and a drawstring bag. The large wedge bag is for my brother, I just taught him to knit, and he's making blanket squares to sew up into a 'Enderman' blanket. (If you've played/seen Minecraft you know what an Enderman is. The other three I will probably keep!

FO Friday

This week, I have finished my cousin's legwarmers! Finally! The colors faded near the end of the first ball, and were marled in the second ball. I don't think my cousin will care, she just loved the colors and she didn't want them to match.

What I'm Reading Tuesday

This week, I've finished two books, Matched by Ally Condie and Corridor by Robin Parrish.

Matched was a great book, definitely a science fiction/dystopian book. It wasn't an action book, nor was it really a romance book. It's more about fighting the system, a system where everything is decided for you. Where you live, who you marry, what job you get, how many kids you have, everything. Cassia spends her whole life believing that everything is for her own good, that she will have the perfect life if she just obeys the Society's rules and regulations. I can't wait to read the second book.

I read corridor in about three or four hours on Friday, it was definitely a page turner! Action on every page, suspense, wonder, and everything else you could want in a science fiction/dystopian novel! I highly, highly recommend this book, as it was recommended to me by a friend.
