WIP Wednesday

Totally flew through today, I didn't even realise that it's 11 PM!!! For WIPW this week, I really on have one active Work in Progress because I am out of yarn for everything else that i was working on... :( therefore, I cast on Casablanca by Annie Modisett in Red Heart Super Saver "Petal Pink" on size 6 & 7 needles. The orange is the waste yarn for the armholes.

This is the beautiful lace motif in the front center.

FO Friday

So this week, I have 3 FOs and I didn't post until now because I had to finish the last one!

First is Elephant Lovie by Thora Bey in Red Heart Super Saver "Delft Blue" "Petal Pink" and "Soft White" on size 4 DPN for the elephant and size 7 for the blanket. Project Page

Interview with Andi Satterlund

This week, I am interviewing knit and crochet designer, Andi Satterlund! I have always been a fan of the knitwear and the cute accesories that she designs, one of my favorites being Marion, a simple, but beautiful cabled cardigan, and Stray, a beautiful leopard print slouchy hat! Andi was kind enough to answer a few questions for this interview!

WIP Wednesday

This week is full of things that have only recently been started.. you know what that means.... Finished objects for FO Friday! But today is not Friday, so don't get too excited. Today is Wednesday, so let's get on with my WIPS!

First is Andre by Cirilia Rose. I am doing it in Red Heart Super Saver "Light Raspberry" on size 7 needles. I am liking the pattern.. except for there is supposed to be 14 pieces in the end that I have to seam together... Each piece so far has to be between 20 and 22 inches in length which I could probably knock out in a few hours... but I don't like knitting on the same thing too long. Project Page

Tour de Fleece Recap

So I know I didn't get as much spun as I would like, but with my lack, comes others' abundances!  I spent my weeks looking at all of the fiber that many people spun and seeing all of the joy and community that shined through all of the fiber artists worldwide! I did, infact, spin a total of 382 yd, 3 skeins, in laceweight. I didn't spin everyday as I was supposed to, so only got done what I got done. If I would have spun everyday like I had hoped I would do, I would have a ton more! So first, I had spun a total of 182 yd from the remainder of the 100% Shetland wool that I named "Mixed Berry"

WIP Wednesday

This week I have been trying to get things off of my needles/hook. Though I haven't gotten anything off the needles/hook yet, I have made significant progress on pretty much everything!

The Off-the-Shoulder Pullover by Vladimir Teriokhin has a back! No other pieces, but a back! I had just enough yarn to finish binding off the armholes, with less than two or three yards left over, the back was done as far as it could go at that point and put onto waste yarn for holding. Red Heart Super Saver Solids "Amethyst" on size 7 21" circular needles. Project Page

The Camo socks were also knit until there was no more yarn, I am working on heel increases and will probably buy more yarn on Saturday while I'm by a Hobby Lobby. Hobby Lobby I Love This Yarn! "Green Camo Multi" on size 2 DPN. Project Page

Piper's (My little sister) scarf which was started ages ago, went from 4" last night to 21.5" when I measured a while ago. It only has to be 45" so I could finish today or tomorrow! Then I can give it to my sister this weekend! Red Heart Super Save "BonBon Print" on size 10 12" circular needles. Project Page

Mom's Snowflake's Throw hasn't gotten any pictures because it's so large, but I have done about 15 large motifs this week, I've been working on it while I babysit since the little one that I babysit gives me no problems. Hopefully it'll be done within the next few months so I can give it. to Momma! :) Red Heart Super Saver "Amethyst" and "Soft White" on size I hook Project Page

Some Better Pictures of My Sewing

So I have posted some pictures of my sewing, but not in the best lighting. So today, before it started raining, I went out and took some pictures! The drawstring bags aren't finished, I have to get some ribbon or drawstring to finish them up. And my first couple of projects are very "fringey." You know, beginner sewing, loose threads, frayed edges... etc. So the drawstring bags are really my best work! I will hopefully be getting a Hobby Lobby trip in sometime this weeked, it might have to be a walmart trip because their fat quarters are cheaper..

Where Has the Time Gone

My goodness... I haven't posted since Wednesday?! How is that even possible? I've had so much to talk about and not a single blog post? Well, let's get one in! Fist of all, Tour de Fleece is going great! I finished the Shetland wool and I am now working on the Enchanted Knoll Farm "Queen Mermaid." I think I've spun about 1 oz. so far... I am going to spin 1 oz into singles, then spin another oz into singles, and ply them.

Tour de Fleece Day 4

Thanks to Tour de Fleece, I can get a lot more handspun up on my shop. I finished the Shetland Wool Sunday night, and washed and thwacked last night.

76 Yds. handspun lace - "Mixed Berry" (available on my shop)

Now, I am spinning Enchanted Knoll Farm "Queen Mermaid." It's super soft and I am loving it!

I made my first sale in the shop on Sunday, and I am going to ship it today! I am ecstatic!
